Steve Dragswolf

Disciplship Pastor

Steve was born in North Dakota and raised in Albuquerque, NM. After graduating from Del Norte High School in 2001 he joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Tyler, Texas, for a six month training program. What was meant as a six-month reprieve to learn more about God turned into a near ten year adventure with YWAM. While there, Steve served in numerous outreaches, joined the staff in Texas, and lead their Discipleship Training School, School of Evangelism, and their School of the Bible.

A member of the federally recognized Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation) in North Dakota, Steve is mostly Hidatsa and Arikara and 1/16th European. Steve has a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Ecclesia College where he focused on American Indian relationships and attitudes toward Christianity and approaches to decolonial practices. He holds a Master's degree from Dartmouth College in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in historical trauma and suicide in American Indian youth, and creative writing. Steve joined staff at New Life City in October of 2017 as the Communications Director and transitioned into the role of Discipleship Pastor in September of 2019.
