The youth of New Life City are in the beginning stages of an amazing growth period. New students are showing up weekly and the group is plunging in to the things of the Kingdom of God. The past four months have seen the youth become more engaged in worship and an unprecedented level of involvement in not only the Saturday night youth service, but also the Sunday morning worship service at New Life City. They are praying for the sick, prophesying, and participating in street prayer ministry.The group is ripe for the next level of ministry. In the summer of 2010, we plan to send students to Brazil with Global Awakening’s Youth Power Invasion. Global Awakening is praying and planning for 250 students from all over the nation to go on this two-week training and mission trip to South America. Because of our long-standing relationship with Randy Clark and GA, and because our group is primed for this opportunity, we would like to see a significant portion of our group join the Youth Power Invasion team.

The team members will be given thorough and intensive training during the first part of the trip from members of the Global Awakening staff. At the conclusion of many days of training, the group will split into smaller teams and go to different communities in the vicinity of Curitiba, Brazil. The teams will then minister in the community through worship services, times of prayer for the sick, and street evangelism and prayer ministry.

We know this will be a trip that will transform the youth who are able to attend. Please look over the site and read about ways you can support our kids. Thank you for all of your help, and may the Lord bless you richly!

alanHawkins My first international trip was 29 years ago. I was already deeply committed to international missions. When I saw the zeal of believers in another culture it set a passion in me to see the nations come to Christ. I was only 26 and was the leader of a group of men who were all older. The trip was made possible by the donations of a small church in rural Mississippi. That little congregation valued their young pastor and sowed into his future. Everywhere I go I carry in my heart the love given by those precious saints. When I announced that we were going to send our youth to Brazil, I was saying more than I had considered. It burst out of me in an explosion of zeal and passion. Our young people will experience life in another culture, they will taste revival of a kind that I did not see until well into adult years. They will be trained by the fearless and passionate lovers of God. They will preach the Gospel, heal the sick, experience the power of God and have their vision lifted higher than ever.

As those who sow financially into this venture ours will be the joy of triumph. When Paul saw his disciples standing strong in the Lord he called it ‘our crown of boasting before the Lord.’ (I Thess. 2:19) He said they were his glory and his joy. That will be our experience when we train, send, finance and pray for these young people. Some of them will have their lives changed forever. Some of the people in Brazil will as well. When you have seen the vast reach of God’s kingdom you are compelled to draw ever closer to Him. This venture will require all of us to sacrifice, it will cost us all and it will propel us forward as we culminate our first ten years as a church. For many years we have waited for an opportunity to walk through a wide door of effective service unto the Lord. It is open. Let’s go through.

I have had the privilege of walking with Randy Clark and the team from Global Awakening for many years. This is the trip of a lifetime. Make it possible. Support the youth of New Life City as they prepare to go to Brazil for the Youth Power Invasion 2010.
